Esta Tierra - Traditional and Contemporary songs from Spain and Latin America

One of Sydney’s newest chamber choirs, El Coro, and guest artists Duo Matiz will present a diverse program of Spanish and Latin American choral music and song in South Sydney Uniting Church, 56A Raglan Street Waterloo, at 2.30pm on Sunday 29 July.

Under the direction of founding conductor Margot McLaughlin, El Coro performs works from the 13th to 21st centuries from many countries and provinces, including Renaissance Spain and Portugal, Mexican Baroque, Brazilian classical, and contemporary folkloric songs from Chile, Argentina and the Caribbean.

Blackheath Choir Festival

Blackheath Choir Festival is a performance festival.
The weekend is divided into concert sessions, with 3 - 5 choirs in each (depending on set length).
There are six concerts in the Community Centre, each of approximately 2 hours duration and two, 1 hour lunchtime concerts in the Presbyterian Church.

Tickets are $15 per session in the Community Hall or $60 for the full weekend.
The lunchtime concerts in the church (one each on Saturday and Sunday) are free.

Both venues have excellent acoustics for choirs and both hold audiences of 250.
