Combined Union Concert

The Sydney Trade Union Choir will perform at the Illawarra Folk Festival in Bulli together with the Newcastle Peoples Chorus and the Illawarra Union Voices.

The concert starts at noon on Sunday 15 Jan with brackets from each choir separately ending with a bracket from all the choirs combined.

The repertoire of all choirs obviously is based on trade union values but covers social and environmental themes as well. Many songs are based on contemporary folk songs, arranged for up to four part harmony for the choirs.

East Timor book launch at Gleebooks

Solidarity will sing a few songs at the start of the launch of two new books about East Timor. They are "Activism & Aid" by Ann Wigglesworth and "The Hammer Blow" by Andrea Needham.

- Kolelemai (East Timorese song of resistance)
- Foho Ramelau (Independence struggle symbolised by mighty Mt Ramelau)
- Four Strong Women (UK women who sabotaged jets bound for war in East Timor)

Christmas concert with Blue Mountains City Band

This very special concert of music from around the world will feature The Blue Mountains City Band, The Heathens Choir and the Katoomba Public School Band, all working together under the expert direction of Volker Schoeler. Central Coast Chorale Inc.

The Chorale comprises approximately 40 singers, a number professionally trained and with solo experience. Some members have furthered their careers and joined the chorus of Opera Australia while others perform regularly with the Sydney Philharmonia Choirs as well as the Sydney University Graduate Choir. The Chorale has been performing on the Central Coast regularly since 1993. The concerts are keenly looked forward to by a growing audience and over the years the Chorale has gained a strong following by lovers of fine choral music.

This is a women's choir that sings in 2-4 part harmony and rounds. We meet on Wednesdays at 7.30pm in Hamilton. It is mainly a "singing for enjoyment" choir, but we also occasionally perform.

Following glowing reviews for their last concert Plainscapes, Bel a cappella close their 2016 concert season with The Divine Liturgy.

The concert will be held at 8pm on Saturday 19 November in the Crypt of St Mary’s Cathedral - St Mary’s Rd, Sydney and features works by Alfred Schnittke and Sergei Rachmaninov.

A Very Bella Voce Christmas

Come and sing in the Christmas season with Bella Voce. Bella Voce are a Novacastrian a cappella quartet with a unique vocal blend. Their last Christmas concert at Lizotte's was highly acclaimed by their audience who were left captivated by this performance. “Many thanks for an exquisite concert. The whole afternoon was delightful and we left with the glow of true Christmas spirit. Beautiful voices. High quality entertainment” were some of the testimonials coming from the crowd. Bella Voce will be joined on stage by a three piece band and their friends, male vocal quartet Sirius Business.

SUMS Presents: Carolfest 2016

Join SUMS for the 58th Festival of Lessons and Carols, to be presented at the University of Sydney Great Hall on Sunday, November 27th. Under the baton of Réka Csernyik, the oldest secular choir in Australia will be presenting a range of carols of all different languages, along with old favourites and congregationals, accompanied by a small chamber orchestra.
