Sydney University Musical Society

Founded in 1878, SUMS is Australia's oldest university choir and the oldest non-sporting club on campus. We are a non-auditioned choir so everyone is welcome with no previous musical experience required. We focus on a friendly and welcoming social environment and fun-filled weekly rehearsals, putting on three concerts every year, including a Festival of Carols at the end of each year in the Great Hall of the University.

Rushing Waters

Rushing Waters is an exciting new university style a capella group in the Canberra region! Think Pitch-Perfect, but with contemporary Christian and popular songs with a positive message. Rushing Waters is made up of about 14 young adult members, representing several of Canberra’s educational institutions and churches, but united with a single goal and purpose: to serve the Canberra community in sharing Christ’s love through music.

St Francis Choir Paddington

A very sociable mixed choir of men and women, most sight-read well, and the repertoire is like Cathedral repertoire. The choir rehearses 7.30pm to 9 pm on Wednesdays, and the hour before services or events.

Singcognito formed in April 2001 with the leader being a university music student with the task of forming and leading a choir as part of her training.

That person was Sarah Stagg and was leader of the choir through to December 2013.
Elaine Yates has taken over the leadership from February 2014.

Sisongke is a joyous dynamic community choir based in Hobart, Tasmania. We are open to everyone, regardless of singing ability. The name "Sisongke" means "together" in Zulu, which reflects our origins as an "African" choir, 20 years ago. But now we sing all sorts of World Music, including music from the Pacific Islands, Aboriginal music, Italian, European Folk Music, etc.

We are an "a capella" choir, which means that (most of the time) we sing without any instruments. Sometimes the odd drum or wind instrument creeps in, but no loud electronic instruments or orchestras.

Wayfarers Australia

Wayfarers Australia (formerly Waldorf Wayfarers) was started in 1997 by composer, choral conductor and music educator Judith Clingan AM. Judith brought together students, parents and teachers from several Steiner Waldorf schools in eastern Australia to encourage teenagers, particularly boys, to enjoy singing choral music in four parts (soprano, alto, tenor, bass). The choir has grown to include performers from all over Australia.
