Making Waves acappella choir

MAKING WAVES is a choir for those who enjoy singing in harmony to make a good sound together.
We meet on a Tuesday evening in Mornington.
We sing a broad range of music, mostly in a’cappella style. The choir is open to all ages, men, women and interested children, and we currently have around 25 singers aged 40’s to 80’s. There are no auditions and musical experience is helpful but not necessary. Every singer joins with a different level of experience, confidence and ability.

Grace Notes Singers

Formed in 2013, our choir is made up of women in diverse stages of their lives. Our singers are university students, career women, business owners and stay-at-home mothers of young children. Most singers in the ensemble have been involved in good school/university choirs or have taken private voice lessons. All have a passion for singing choral literature of artistic merit and happily embrace the many different musical styles we undertake.

Sydney University Madrigal Society (MADS)

The Sydney University Madrigal Society is a small acappella choir. We focus on singing madrigals - essentially the pop music of the Renaissance and early Baroque period - secular, polyphonic, and unaccompanied. Imagine cheeky jokes and bad innuendos, except sung in harmony and with a straight face, if you can keep one. Every year we hold two concerts, usually in May and in October, and work hard on our repertoire of madrigals in rehearsals.

Now in their 10th year, THECHO!R offers another exciting, diverse range of performance opportunities, from pop, 80s music, world music to new works … we’d love you to join us in 2018!

With Founding Artistic Director Dr Jonathon Welch AM

THECHO!R rehearses Wednesday nights from 7 to 10pm. Following school terms. BASSES and TENORS are particularly welcome.

Rushing Waters

Rushing Waters is an exciting new university style a capella group in the Canberra region! Think Pitch-Perfect, but with contemporary Christian and popular songs with a positive message. Rushing Waters is made up of about 14 young adult members, representing several of Canberra’s educational institutions and churches, but united with a single goal and purpose: to serve the Canberra community in sharing Christ’s love through music.

The Honeybees

The Honeybees is a non-profit community choir established primarily for the purpose of promoting & encouraging a cappella singing - in particular, gospel music - in Australia.
We are not a religious choir, but are united in our love of the uplifting and passionate quality of the gospel genre. Our repertoire includes traditional gospel songs, as well as modern gospel-inspired numbers, which draw on related musical styles such as soul, R & B and jazz.
