King Tide Community Choir

This choir is open to everyone without audition. The aim is to have a big community choir that caters to a big cross-section of the community from mothers with young children to retired people. Our rehearsal venue is located next to the local playground to assist with the managing of children. We focus on singing songs that are relatively easy to learn and are in 2, 3 or 4 part harmony or are rounds. This allow us to get into a fun and often meditative groove so we can all experience the joy of singing together in harmony.

Sydney University Musical Society

Founded in 1878, SUMS is Australia's oldest university choir and the oldest non-sporting club on campus. We are a non-auditioned choir so everyone is welcome with no previous musical experience required. We focus on a friendly and welcoming social environment and fun-filled weekly rehearsals, putting on three concerts every year, including a Festival of Carols at the end of each year in the Great Hall of the University.

Sydney University Madrigal Society (MADS)

The Sydney University Madrigal Society is a small acappella choir. We focus on singing madrigals - essentially the pop music of the Renaissance and early Baroque period - secular, polyphonic, and unaccompanied. Imagine cheeky jokes and bad innuendos, except sung in harmony and with a straight face, if you can keep one. Every year we hold two concerts, usually in May and in October, and work hard on our repertoire of madrigals in rehearsals.

Pyrmont Sings!

We are a community choir of thirty to forty members, and we welcome anyone who enjoys singing and can hold a tune. We delight in the good fortune of highly professional directors and accompanists, licking us into shape. We perform locally at community events (such as the Pyrmont Festival of Food, Wine and Art, Christmas in Pyrmont, the Mustard Seed Carols and Live Nativity) and in nursing homes. Our repertoire varies, but usually includes light classics, jazz standards, songs from musicals and carols.

Glendale Waldorf SIngers

We are a very lucky group of women, men and students who indulge in that very special activity - singing. We sing a wide range of Acapella (up to 6 part) music from Baroque, Renaissance through Russian Orthodox, Jewish and other sacred music to modern, original secular works. While sing occasional Barbershop (with the ladies) we do not sing pop music. I have been angling at Scat singing for a while now without luck and another surprise - we don’t do much Gospel.
