The Happening Sing

The Happening Sing is a kind of ‘open choir’ - more like a meet-up than a traditional choir. It’s all about that unique experience of being in a group of singers belting out a song in harmony, but without having to commit to a regular weekly rehearsal.

It happens at Camelot (a venue in Marrickville) on Sundays every month or so - join the facebook group for regular updates or email singup@optusnet.com.au

Cyrenes

The Cyrenes is an a cappella choir of women from Canberra. It was founded in 1989 and was one of the first women's community choirs in Canberra. The Cyrenes aim to create a safe, supportive and fun environment where women connect with each other through music.

Our underlying philosophy is that singing is part of the joy and well-being of life; that everyone can sing, and has something to contribute. We love creating beautiful and vibrant harmony. The Cyrenes have a repertoire of meaningful and powerful songs, including some songs just for fun!

Choirs4kids

Choirs4kids is a company who runs singing groups for children from the age of 3 to 12.

There are different groups, age appropriate, to cater for the differing needs of singers. Groups are not auditioned and the emphasis is on fun and enjoyment with friends in a relaxed environment.

We perform in the local area and generally have lots of fun. We learn to use our voices in different ways to create a better sound, we learn to work together to sing in rounds and hold different parts within songs.

We have classes in Waikiki, Melville and Mandurah.

Joubert Singers

The Joubert Singers is a mixed voice (Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Bass) community choir based in Hunters Hill. We perform sacred and secular music from around the world, including by Haydn, Charpentier, Elgar, Britten, Mozart and Vivaldi, and pieces from France, Italy, Estonia, Africa and China. We also commission and sing contemporary Australian works. We generally perform three concerts each year in the Hunters Hill / Ryde district, and sometimes further afield when performing with other choirs and orchestras.
