We Remember: A Musical Reflection on the ANZAC Spirit

Date:
Thu, 25/04/2019 - 2:00pm - 4:00pm

Let us pause for a while, this ANZAC Day, to listen to the words and music that honour the spirit and sacrifice of men and women in times of war. emotions are aroused - sadness, anger, fear, hope, even joy. The music carries us along, echoing around the walls of the magnificent South Melbourne Town Hall. The sense of history is palpable, reflected by the contemporary composers and musicians.
Featuring the haunting 'Benedictus' and the stirring 'For the Fallen' by Karl Jenkins, the charming 'Soldier Boy' by John Rutter, and a traditional setting of 'Amazing Grace', this program will move and delight.
We acknowledge the bonds shared with our sisters and brothers from New Zealand, welcoming the Hamilton Civic Choir for their premiere performances in Melbourne, highlighted by renditions of 'Waltzing Matilda' and 'Hine e Hine'.
Complementing this beautiful choral music will be the superb sounds of the Boroondara Brass.
You will leave truly uplifted.
