Woollahra Community Choir

Tanya Christensen, Musical Director of the successful Monday Nightingales choir, has been approached by Woollahra Council to start a new singing group. This new community choir is being specifically designed to cater for people who have always wanted to sing but have never been able to do so. More experienced singers will also be welcomed.
The choir will be led by Tanya with Dewi Lui as accompanist (Dewi is the accomplished accompanist of the Monday Nightingales).
Name: Woollahra Community Choir (subject to change once the group gets up and running).
Date: Thursdays (following normal 10 week school term with a short 8 week first term starting Thursday 15 February)
Time: 1:00-3:00pm
Location: St Columba’s Uniting Church, 53A Ocean St, Woollahra, 2025
St Columba’s Uniting Church in Woollahra is the perfect location for a singing group as it has incredible acoustics, a wonderful ambience and a grand piano. It is also near cafes and shops in Woollahra, and just a short 10-12 minute stroll from Bondi Junction.
The cost to members would be $15 per week (paid per term) with the aim of reducing this to $10 per week once the group has established itself to a reasonable size (approx. 30-50 members). This is in line with other community choirs. The cost for the first term would be $120.
