Four Choirs sing to benefit THE PENCIL TREE

Sat, 02/12/2017 - 2:30pm - 4:15pm

Four Central Coast choirs will come together to benefit The Pencil Tree in an uplifting concert where they sing their most loved songs.

The Pencil Tree is a small charity with a big heart. It is based in northern NSW and gives 100% of donations to buy stationary for rural children in Nepal and India. Poor school children of rural Nepal and India often find school difficult as they do not have access to paper, pencils and books to write in. This means school is very hard and stops them from getting the education that will help them lead their families to a better life for generations to come.

The Pencil Tree is a volunteer group entirely focused on providing a good educational beginning for these children with the supply of basic educational stationary. The charity also collects old mobile phones. Especially useful are superseded smartphones, the ones which can connect to the internet, for re-use or to sell the components to fund the stationary. There are no administration fees or salaries taken from funds raised.
