This weekend will deal with the big issues of how to make the voice sound and feel better but also how that ties in with emotion and your musical imagination. Areas included: building reliability and flexibility, accessing registers, how to increase range, dealing with “the break” , breath management & support, amongst others.

Originally a self-taught performer (Blindman’s Holiday, The Transylvaniacs), Gemma’s teaching style draws on her own doctoral voice research at Sydney University as well as work with singing pedagogues such as Jo Estill, Loris Synan and Jane Heirich. She is a recognised expert on how body movement connects with singing and her research on this been published internationally.Gemma specialises in teaching non- classical voice production methods and repertoire and well as mentoring individuals, a cappella groups and choirs. She has more than 20 years of experience with all levels from beginner to professional and is experienced at teaching contemporary popular as well as specialist styles like Bulgarian folk voice.
