Blackheath Choir Festival is an annual event, held over the last weekend in August. 2010 is our fourth festival.

All concerts are held in the Blackheath (NSW) Community Centre (opposite the railway station on the Great Western Highway).

The festival consists of 6 x 2 hour public concerts, each with 3-4 choirs doing their own choice of music, mostly in 20-30 minute sets.

Friday 7.30pm; Saturday 10.30am; 2.30pm; 7.30pm; Sunday 10.30 am; 3.30 pm (exact times to be confirmed).

The final concert concludes with a 30 minute Combined Choirs set, conducted by Walter Sutcliffe:
Coronation Anthem No 2: Let Thy Hand be Strengthened – G.F. Handel
Motet No 3: Glory, Honour, Power and Passion – W.A. Mozart
Ave Maria – F. Mendelssohn
The Heavens Are Telling (from The Creation) – F.J. Haydn

Groups and individuals are welcome to be part of the Combined Choir - contact for sheet music (essential!).

All choirs participate on an amateur basis.
This festival is not a competition and there are no registration fees - it's all about the music!

All types of choirs are welcome to register but there is a limit of 20 choirs. Foreign language choirs are welcome.
