Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir

The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Choir (SGLC) was established in 1991, and is one of Australia's foremost gay and lesbian choirs. SGLC regularly performs at important community events including the Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Festival, as well as hosting two concerts of our own each year. We tour annually, sometimes internationally, sometimes interstate, sometimes locally, and we enjoy recording projects as well.

Membership is open to all. Whether you're gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, queer, intersex, or straight but queer-friendly, you are welcome. SGLC is non-auditioned so as long as you are supportive of the queer community, you can join. Our repertoire covers both the popular and classical spectrum - in February 2009 we became the first queer choir ever to produce a baroque opera when we staged Purcell's 'Fairy Queen,' and by November we were belting out 'Chapel Of Love' for a concert of pop music about same-sex marriage. SGLC also focuses on providing a supportive and friendly environment, so expect lots of social activites throughout the year. We're diverse in more ways than one - come and see for yourself!

Non-singing members are also welcome - we always need help behind the scenes.
